Timothy Wahlers, President and CEO
Tim Wahlers is the founder of enableTV, Inc., a company specializing in Interactive TV software products and services. As President and CEO, Tim is responsible for corporate management and overall business strategy of the company's product and service offerings. Over 6 years while at Vidiom, Tim served as a consultant to CableLabs and Time Warner Cable, assisting in the analysis and development of many OpenCable software documents and specifications including the OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP). Prior to enableTV, Tim was a founder and executive of Vidiom Systems Inc and was previously at OptImage Interactive Systems. Vidiom was built from a start-up to becoming one of the leading engineer services companies in the interactive television industry. At Optimage, he led product design and development teams that positioned OptImage at the forefront of the market for interactive compact disc and interactive television systems. At OptImage, Tim established a reputation for architecting many technically innovative approaches to the unique problems of interactive multimedia authoring and content development. Under Tim's leadership, OptImage was first-to-market with the first CD write-once burner, MPEG1 encoder, CD-i and multimedia set-top emulation, multimedia API, and developer tools. Tim is actively involved in multimedia industry technology and standards discussions and is frequently asked to speak at international forums on multimedia technologies and trends. Tim has been a leader in the multimedia and ITV industries for over 18 years. His work history includes XAOS Tools, Philips/OptImage, and Commonwealth Edison.
Steven Harris, Chief Operating Officer
Steve Harris is an accomplished digital marketing, media and software executive and acts as COO of enableTV, Inc. He has a successful track record in launching, rejuvenating and successfully managing small and large organizations, specializing in Internet services and software marketing. He was President of the Digital Marketing Division of MatchLogic, Inc., a highly successful pioneering interactive marketing firm, providing ad serving, e-mail marketing, CRM, and lead generation for advertisers like General Motors and Procter and Gamble. He also served as VP in several capacities – Sales, Marketing, Corporate Development, Account Management and Business Development at MatchLogic and Excite. He was CEO of Niagara Television, a super station and television production company, and was VP, Broadcasting and Division Head for Maclean Hunter Limited (now Rogers Communications) with $1.0 B+ revenues) and CEO of its 28 radio, TV, sales and production operations. He launched and led SUPERCHANNEL (Canada) a national cable movie network and earned prestigious advertising and broadcasting industry awards including the New York Television Festivals Gold Medal. Most recently Steve headed CODATAS, Inc., providing growth assistance to emerging and rapidly growing companies. Mr. Harris has served on many private and public boards and guest lectures on strategy and advanced marketing at the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado.
Walden Miller, VP Services
Walden Miller is a founding member of enableTV, and has contributed significantly to the company's success. At enableTV, Walden is responsible for the Engineering Services division, which includes testing, training, documentation, support, and project management, as well as the overall product direction of the company. Walden was previously the VP, Services and VP, Engineering Services at Vidiom Systems Inc. As VP of Engineering Services, Walden helped the company build a documentation, testing, and training corps, in addition to personally writing authoring tool manuals, API manuals, training modules, and ITV specifications. Walden was also responsible for project management and application production. Prior to joining Vidiom, Walden was with Philips Media/OptImage, where he managed the technical documentation department, directed multimedia CD productions, and coordinated other engineering services. His technical documention department wrote award-winning documentation for multimedia authoring tools, CD creation tools, and MPEG encoding systems. Walden also spent 5 years with Microware Systems Corporation, where he managed the technical documentation department and wrote operating systems manuals, including low-level driver manuals, tools manuals, API manuals, and porting guides. Walden has worked in the RTOS and ITV industry for 18 years. His work history includes XAOS Tools, Philips/OptImage, and Microware.
Ken Furie, VP, Engineering Ken directs the software engineering group at enableTV, Inc. As VP
Engineering, Ken is responsible for the delivery of customer and internal software projects, as well as contributing to overall business strategy for the company's product and service offerings. Prior to enableTV, Ken was the founder and General Manager of Solekai System's Cable business in Boulder and VP of Engineering for Solekai. From 2005 to 2008, Ken's Boulder-based Solekai operation provided consulting expertise and tools to CableLabs, Comcast, GuideWorks, TVWorks, Time Warner Cable, Arris, and several other companies associated with the US Cable industry. Solekai grew from start-up to being named one of *Inc.* magazine's "Fastest Growing 500 Companies" in 2006. Prior to Solekai, in Colorado, Ken operated a successful cable consulting business supporting many customers in their development and product requirements, and he formed the Independent Test Lab (ITL), a headend lab business dedicated to improving the quality and time-to-market of consumer products for the Cable community. With over 12 years in the digial video industry, Ken has had direct involvement in the early development of many devices, including TiVo, the first US MPEG-2 set-top boxes, and he was responsible for a digital camera system capable of capturing 100,000 frames per second used to record crash tests that won the 2003 Project Management Institute's "Project of the Year" award for the Western US. Prior to that Ken held various positions with Wind River, Doctor Design, IBM, GTE, and the University of California.
Mark Malinak, VP Business Development and Sales
Mark Malinak is tasked with driving enableTV's sales in services-led and product-led revenue models. As VP of Business Development and Sales, Mark brings over 15 years of sales and business development experience, providing advanced technology solutions in the embedded and enterprise software space. Mark is one of the top management team who moved from Vidiom Systems to enableTV. At Vidiom, he was responsible for leading the business development and sales efforts on both the services and product sides of the business. Before joining Vidiom, Mark was a co-founder and VP of Sales for SNAP2 Corporation where he was responsible for sales and business development of native and standards-based iTV middleware, applications, tools, and services solutions through direct and OEM relationships with consumer electronics, in-flight entertainment, and software technology providers. Mark held global team, North American and regional account management roles with Sun Microsystems providing Java binary and source technology to MSOs, network equipment providers, service providers, and semiconductor manufacturers. Prior to working for Sun, Mark held strategic account and sales management roles with Microware Systems providing vertical market embedded software solutions for semiconductor, wireless, and iTV markets. Mark holds a BS in Industrial Distribution from Texas A&M University.
