Company History
enableTV was founded in 2008 based on two decades of work by Tim Wahlers, Walden Miller, and their core staff, many of whom have been around since the beginnings of the interactive industry.
The enableTV staff have used their extensive experience in the design and development of operating systems, middleware, applications, and toolkits in the cable, satellite, MHP, and early multimedia industries to spring enableTV to the forefront of the Interactive Television industry.
enableTV's team were—and are—pioneers in the iTV and advanced media industries with extensive experience in software engineering, iTV application design, testing, consulting, technical documentation, and training, providing a unique set of skills for any technology project.
enableTV is headquartered in Broomfield, Colorado, with an additional office in Portland, Oregon.
Management
Tim Wahlers, President and CEO
Tim Wahlers is the Founder, President, and CEO of enableTV, Inc. Tim has been a leader in the multimedia and iTV industries for over 25 years. Tim is a serial entrepreneur and was also the CTO/President of Philips - OptImage Interactive and Founder/CEO of Vidiom Systems prior to starting enableTV. He also serves in advisory roles with various digital media companies. enableTV and Vidiom have provided key technology and resources to the digital media industry playing a key role in the development of many open standard software environments such as OCAP and EBIF, as well as numerous proprietary solutions. Tim has been actively involved in multimedia industry technology and standards discussions and is frequently asked to speak at international forums on multimedia technologies and trends. Tim holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Nuclear Engineering from the University of Wisconsin.
Lenny Melamedas, Vice President
Lenny Melamedas works with corporate strategy and business development. Lenny's work in the industry has been recognized with over 300 international awards and nominations for outstanding efforts in technology, ad sales innovation, programming, and marketing. Over the years, Lenny has been the Chair and Speaker at countless industry events including NCTA, SCTE, CTAM, ANA, AAAA, and BCFM. He has also served on various industry boards and industry association steering committees. Prior to joining enableTV, Lenny held a variety of executive and operational positions within major cable and broadcast companies, program entities, media, and advertising software organizations. Past roles include Executive Vice President, CJDS (now Harris) providing solutions for advertising and media operations for broadcast and cable networks, advertising agencies, cable companies, and advertising rep firms. He held other roles at KRON-TV/Bay TV, TCI, UA Columbia, Rogers-UA, United Artists Cable, and Columbia Pictures.
Ellen McDaniel, Vice President Services
Ellen McDaniel directs the software services group at enableTV, Inc. As VP Services, Ellen is responsible for the testing, training, documentation, support, UI design, project management, and marketing communications departments. Over the past 20 years, Ellen has worked in a variety of industries, including the interactive television industry, the embedded software industry, and the industrial automation industry. Ellen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Scientific and Technical Communications from Michigan Technological University and a Master of Science degree in Technical Communications from Colorado State University.
